India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been fined by the ICC following his heated exchange with Australia batter Travis Head during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar series in Adelaide. The pacer was fined 20 per cent of his match fee but escaped a suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Head ended up escaping from both fine and suspension, he too was sanctioned for his verbal exchange with Siraj. Both the players have also been handed 1 demerit point each for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Siraj has been penalised 20% of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel which relates to \u201cusing language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal,” the ICC said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Head too was sanctioned for breaching Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to the ‘abuse of a player, player support personnel, umpire or match referee during an international match’,” ICC added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
