In the summit match on Saturday in Barbados, India defeated South Africa by seven runs to win their second T20 World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PM Modi congratulated the squad by phone after India’s success. He complimented Rohit Sharma on his outstanding T20 career and leadership. Along with Virat Kohli’s noteworthy 76-run performance in the decisive game, the Prime Minister also praised the player’s overall impact on Indian cricket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, PM Modi had specifically addressed Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in a separate post, stating: “Dear @ImRo45 You are excellence personified. Your aggressive mindset, batting and captaincy has given a new dimension to the Indian team. Your T20 career will be remembered fondly. Delighted to have spoken to you earlier today.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
