He later also slammed the sports journalists for not questioning the authorities and tweeted “Not even single journalist or cricket analyst even dared to ask questions or show these stats to selectors.”

PCB’s Action On Shahnawaz Dahani’s Outburst

However, Rashid Latif accepted his mistake and tweeted “My mistake Dahani I will make new”. Dahani deleted all his previous tweets following that.

Now, as per recent reports, PCB didn’t take this on a light note and their legal team will be taking action against Dahani over this outburst.

The pacer is currently playing in the ongoing edition of the Lanka Premier League 2023, where he is representing Dambulla Aura and has taken three wickets so far in three matches at an average of 39.66.

During his over, there was an easy chance for Dahani to dismiss Sikandar Raza but he missed the chance. Everyone on the field was shocked as both batters were almost on the same end and he could have easily run to the stumps and taken the bails off but he threw it.

Even the on-air commentators were left stunned and in utter disbelief at the incident. Waqar Younis one of the commentators said “They are both at one end. He could have just run. WHY? WHY? God,” while the other one said, “Oh it’s bad, it’s really bad,” followed by a burst of laughter caught on the mic. Raza then smashed a six and four on Dahani’s delivery.

Dahani is the third pacer from Pakistan to be down with an injury in the recent times after Shaheen Shah Afridi (right knee ligament injury) and Mohammad Wasim Jr. (side strain).

“Shahnawaz Dahani will not be available for Sunday’s ACC T20 Asia Cup Super-4 match against India due to a suspected side strain. The injury happened while bowling in the match against Hong Kong in Sharjah on Friday,” said the PCB in an official update.

In Pakistan’s 155-run thrashing of Hong Kong on Friday, Dahani had figures of 1/7 in two overs. In an earlier match against India in Group A held last Sunday, Dahani had hit 16 runs apart from figures of 0/29 in four overs.

“As is the case with any suspected side strain injury, the medical team will monitor him for the next 48-72 hours, following which they will make decisions, including carrying out a scan and further participation in the tournament,” added the PCB.

In four T20Is, right-arm pacer Dahani had picked three wickets while in two ODIs, he has one scalp. Pakistan’s other pace bowling options ahead of their Super Four match against India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday include Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Hasnain.
