India’s humiliating Test series loss against Australia might result in skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni losing his position and Virender Sehwag taking over the charge in Test format, reports said.
The BCCI officials are contemplating on the move to replace Dhoni as the Indian captain in Test format after India’s eight consecutive losses in overseas conditions, which has also resulted in India dropping to the third spot in ICC Test rankings.
After England annihilation in 2011 where the Indian team lost 4-0, the formerly top-ranked team in Test cricket was crushed 4-0 by Australia in the recently concluded Test series Down Under.
However, Dhoni is expected to continue as captain for the limited-overs versions of the game, ODI and T20, the Times of India reported.
It is believed that ego clash between Sehwag and Dhoni is somewhat the reason of India’s debacle in Australia.
Sehwag is not happy with the way Dhoni functions. Be it field placements during a Test match or promoting a new player, Sehwag believes his opinions are not heard.

Also, Sehwag believes that he has not got his due – captaincy – because of Dhoni and the Indian selectors now want to give him a chance.
