Injured KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah are set to return in the Indian squad for Asia cup and World Cup

THE ASIA Cup is less than three weeks away but the India squad has not been announced yet. The BCCI is likely to announce the squad anytime soon.

Ahead of the announcement, a report in PTI has confirmed India’s core players for the Asia Cup and World Cup. As per the report, both Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are in the hunt for a place in the squad.

There were doubts about the availability of players like Shreyas Iyer, Jaspirt Bumrah, and KL Rahul, who are on the way to recovery from injury but the report claims that all of them will be available for the mega event.

Mohammad Siraj, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah were expected to make a cut but the BCCI is also likely to add Mukesh Kumar to the squad. Shardul Thakur is also likely to be part of the team. Yuzvendra Chahal was not given a chance in the ODI series against West Indies but he along with Kuldeep Yadav is in the race for a place in the 15-member squad. Suryakumar Yadav is also likely to be retained in the squad despite going through a lean patch.
