No E-Tickets For ODI World Cup 2023? Jay Shah Explains

ODI World Cup 2023 will start from October 05 and ICC already announced the fixture for the upcoming event.

BCCI Secretary Jah Shah opened up for the ticketing system of the upcoming ODI World Cup which will be hosted by India from October 5. Shah revealed that carrying a physical ticket for the would-be compulsory for the fans.

Shah also revealed that the board has already finalized the ticketing partner ann ICC along with BCCI will going to make a joint announcement for the tickets.

“We had a meeting of the state units hosting World Cup matches which, barring one or two, everybody attended. We have almost finalized our ticketing partner as well. There’s a timeline till Monday, after which ICC and BCCI will make a joint announcement about tickets, their availability, pricing and all other issues,” Shah said.

“We are not having e-tickets this time. But we will arrange for the physical tickets to be ready at seven or eight spots from a week before the game. It will be difficult to have e-tickets at big venues such as Ahmedabad or Lucknow. We will trial it in bilateral series before introducing it in big tournaments.”

Shah also opened up on Bumrah’s Comeback

India will be sending a second string squad for the T20I series in Ireland but a fit-again pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be tested during the three matches in Malahide said Jay Shah on Thursday.

Bumrah is currently doing his extensive rehabilitation at the NCA post surgery to cure his lower back stress fracture and is expected to play a couple of warm-up games before a final call is taken.

“Bumrah is totally fit and he may go to Ireland,” Shah told reporters here during a media conference.
