Australia and West Indies will resume their cricketing rivalry when the two teams meet for the first Test of the Frank-Worrell Trophy at Hobart on Thursday. Historically, Australia and West Indies have enjoyed some of the most intense contests but at the moment, the Caribbean side are probably going through their worst phase in cricket.

Recently, the team from the island nation was thrashed in the Test series in Sri Lanka. The Australia tour will yet again be a tough assignment for the team led by a young Jason Holder. On the other hand, Australia are riding high after their recent success against New Zealand at home.

The team have begun their new era under Steven Smith, after they lost a host of players to retirement. The depleted West Indian side, which lost the tour match to Cricket Australia XI, are unlikely to pose any serious threat. But the purists would want to see the same old epic clash between the two rivals.
