PAKISTAN celebrated its 77th Independence Day On August 14, 2023. To mark the special day, the Pakistan Cricket Board released a tribute video to celebrate the history of Pakistan cricket.
Over the years, Pakistan has produced many iconic cricketers who went on to dominate the sport. However, if we talk about one cricketer that inspired the new generation and played a significant role in making Pakistan world beaters, it could be none other than former captain Imran Khan.
Pakistan’s best moment in cricket came when they won the World Cup. It was under the able leadership of Imran Khan that Pakistan lifted the World Cup in 1992. However, in a shocking turn of events, the PCB did not give Imran Khan even a second of space in the tribute video.
Making history isn't just about one day, it's about the legends we create and the tales we script 💫

The decision to leave out one of the greatest cricketers in history caused a massive social media outrage. The fans were upset at the PCB for not being thankful to Imran Khan for his contribution to Pakistan cricket.
You guys are thankless. IK is the only one who got this country a World Cup. One may have their disagreements but he’s a legend, the world loves him.

One of the reasons PCB might have hesitated to mention Imran Khan could be because of his role in Pakistan politics. Imran Khan after retiring from the game formed a political party Tehreek-e-Insaaf and went on to become the country’s Prime Minister.
