Arjun Tendulkar was dropped from Goa’s cricket team following a series of poor performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The left-arm pacer, who is the son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, didn’t feature in Goa’s match against Kerala and was again absent in the match against Maharashtra on Tuesday.
This is definitely nothing short of a massive blow for the young pacer who just can’t seem to give consistently good performances and thus, eventually ends up getting dropped. This also comes just days after Arjun was bought by the Mumbai Indians for base price of INR 30 lakhs at the IPL auction.
Arjun had a horrible start to the tournament as he ended up conceding 48 runs in 4 overs against Mumbai. He also wasn’t able to perform well with the bat as Goa slumped to defeat.
He did improve a little in Goa’s third match of the tournament against Services where he only gave 19 runs in his 3-over spell, but unfortunately remained wicketless. However, he once again proved to be expensive in the next match against Andhra giving away 36 runs in 3.4 overs.
