Senior India cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli suffered yet another drop in the latest ICC Test batter rankings. The former dropped 2 spots and is now on the 42nd position while the latter went down by 3 places and is now ranked 27th.

This comes after the duo failed to impress with the bat throughout the recently concluded 5-match Border-Gavaskar series. While Rohit scored just 31 runs from the 5 innings he played during the series, Kohli only managed to score a total of 190 runs he played against the Aussies.

On the other hand, India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah continued his reign at the top of the Test bowler rankings. Bumrah, who made history ahead of the fifth and final Test against Australia by recording the highest-ever ICC Rankings rating for an Indian bowler at 907 points, improved that tally by one point after taking two wickets in the first innings at the SCG.

India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s blistering knock of 61 in Sydney saw him climb 3 places and reach the ninth spot on the batter rankings while Yashasvi Jaiswal retained his fourth position.

Australia pacer Scott Boland made a massive 29-place jump and reached the 9th position. Boland was the star performer for the Baggy Greens in the Sydney Test, picking up a total of 10 wickets on the lively pitch. Australia skipper Pat Cummins also made significant gain in the rankings, climbing to number two after picking up 5 wickets in the final match.

Meanwhile, South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma’s brilliant century against Pakistan saw him climb 3 spots and reach the number 6 spot while also achieving a career-best rating of 769. South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada rose a spot and occupied the third spot in the Test bowler rankings.

England batter Harry Brook dethroned his teammate Joe Root and rose to the number 1 spot on the ICC Test batter rankings. This comes after Brook played a sensational knock of 123 in the second New Zealand Test which was held in Wellington.

Though Root also scored a tremendous century in the second innings of the same match, Brook was able to pip him by a point on the rankings. The latter topped the Test batter list with 898 rating points while the former finished with 897 rating points.

Brook’s form this year in Test cricket has been nothing short of exceptional as he is among the 3 players that have scored over 1000 runs in the format this year alongside Root and India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal.

With 4 centuries scored so far this year in red-ball cricket, Brook is the player with the third-most centuries in the longest format this year behind Root (6 tons) and Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis (5 tons).

Meanwhile, Indian players faced a massive decline in the Test batter rankings. This comes following Australia’s dominant 10-icket victory over the Men in Blu where the India batters massively underperformed.

Star batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both went down in the rankings. The former lost 5 places and dropped to the 31st spot while the latter lost 6 places and went down to the 20th spot. Shubman Gill also lost 5 places and dropped to the 17th spot while Rishabh Pant lost 3 places and dropped to the 9th spot. There was no change in Jaiswal’s ranking and he remained on the 4th spot.

Elsewhere in the ranking, Australia’s Travis Head jumped to the 5th spot following a brilliant century against India while South Afrca’s Temba Bavuma gained 3 places and reached the 7th spot in the ranking following the Proteas’ series whitewash over Sri Lanka.

England batter Harry Brook achieved a new career high in the latest ICC Test batter rankings and became the new number 2 ranked batter in the longest format of the game.

This comes after Brook played a heroic knock of 171 in the recently-concluded Test match against New Zealand in Christchurch. The knock saw England post a humongous first inning total of 499. It is safe to say that Brook played a crucial role in the victory for the Three Lions.

The middle-order batter smashed his 7th Test century and massively helped England in taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Brook scored an impressive 15 boundaries and 3 sixes in this fabulous knock.

Thanks to this knock, Brook rose 2 places, overtaking India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal for the second spot. The England batter is just 41 points behind teammate Joe Root who remained as the number 1 Test batter in the world.

After heroics with the bat in the first Test, the England duo of Ollie Pope (up eight spots to 32nd) and skipper Ben Stokes (up seven places to 34th) also made substantial gains in the ICC Test rankings for batters.

Coming to the bowler rankings, South Africa’s Marco Jansen rose 19 places and moved to the 9th spot following his incredible performance against Sri Lanka where he bagged 11 wickets. He also moved up to 2nd in the Test all-rounder rankings.

Indian pace spearhead reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowler rankings. The vice-captain of the Indian Test team has now become the No.1 ranked bowler in the longest format of the game. This comes after his brilliant performance in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar series in Perth.

Bumrah took a total of 8 wickets in the first Test which included a sensational 5-wicket haul in the first innings and a 3-wicket haul in the second. The stand-in captain dismissed key Australian batters in both the innings and was even awarded with the Player of the Match award for his splendid performance.

Bumrah climbed 2 spots in the rankings, overtaking South African pacer Kagiso Rabada and Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood. The Indian pacer was last seen on the premier position in Test bowler rankings back in February of this year.

Alongside Bumrah, fellow Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj also rose 3 spots in the rankings, propelling him to the 25th position. Siraj picked a total of 5 wickets across the 2 innings in the first Australia Test.

Coming to the batters, India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal climbed to the number 2 spot following his tremendous century against the Baggy Greens in Perth. After getting dismissed for a duck in the first innings, Jaiswal came back in style and played a glorious knock of 161 to carry India to a massive second inning total.

Apart from him, Australia batter Travis Head climbed 3 spots and reached the number 10 position while India’s star batter Virat Kohli climbed 9 spots and reached the 13th position following a fantastic unbeaten century in Perth.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the latest T20I all-rounder rankings. Meanwhile, young Indian batter Tilak Varma has made a remarkable leap into the top 10 T20I batters, scoring 2 centuries in the recently-concluded T20I series against South Africa.

Pandya surpassed England’s Liam Livingstone and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee to regain the top position. This comes after the all-rounder performed well in both the batting and bowling departments against the Proteas.

Some of his highlights from the series include the knock of 39 in the second T20I which carried India to a fighting total. Then his economical spell of 1/8 in 3 overs in the fourth and final T20I helped India in ensuring their triumph in the series.

Another star performer for India in the series was batter Tilak Varma who scored consecutive centuries to lead the Men in Blue to victory in both the third and fourth T20I. In total, Varma scored 280 runs in the 4-match series and was awarded with the Player of the Series award.

These brilliant performances saw Varma rise 69 spots in the T20I batter rankings and ascend to the third position only behind Australia’s Travis Head and England’s Phil Salt. Varma also became the highest-ranked batter on the T20I batter rankings as skipper Suryakumar Yadav slipped to 4th place.

Sanju Samson also had a fantastic series where he scored 2 centuries and cemented his place in India’s T20I set-up. These fabulous performances saw him rise to the 22nd spot. The series against South Africa once again showcased India’s dominance in the T20I format.

Pakistan cricketers received a massive boost on the ICC ODI rankings just months before the 2025 Champions Trophy tournament commences in the country. The Men in Green pulled off an amazing victory by 2-1 against Australia in the recently-concluded ODI series. This was the team’s first series victory in Australia in 22 years.

Pacer Shaheen Afridi re-claimed the top spot on the latest ODI bowler rankings. This comes after he picked up 8 wickets in th3 ODI series against Australia at a brilliant average of 12.62.

It saw Afridi move up three places and take the pole position from South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj, who fell down to the third spot. On the other hand, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan remained second. Afridi previously held the number 1 spot on the bowlers ranking midway through last year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.

Afridi’s teammate Haris Rauf jumped 14 places to 13th overall and reached a new career-high rating following his 10 wickets and Player of the Series heroics against Australia. Another Pakistan pacer, Naseem Shah also went up by 14 places to reach the 55th position.

Afridi’s rise to the top of the bowling charts means that Pakistan now have the top-ranked player in both batting and bowling in ODI cricket, with former skipper Babar Azam increasing his lead at the top of the batter charts following his total of 80 runs in the Australia series.

On the other hand, new skipper Mohammad Rizwan also made gains on the list for ODI batters and reached the 23rd position following his 74 runs in Australia.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma saw a heavy decline in the ICC Test batter rankings update on Wednesday. This update brought notable changes across the rankings, with one of the biggest shifts being Rohit’s nine-place drop from 15th to 24th.

This marks Rohit’s lowest ranking in nearly 6 years. Previously, he had fallen down to the 44th position back in 2018. Rohit’s rating also dropped to 649 in the latest update. This is his lowest rating since February 2021 when it fell down to 626.

The batter’s recent poor performances in home matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand have contributed to this decline. In the Bengaluru Test against the Black Caps, he managed scores of only 2 and 52, followed by 0 and 8 in Pune, leading to India’s first Test series defeat at home in 12 years.

Other Indian players also experienced ranking drops. Virat Kohli fell 6 places to 14th, while Rishabh Pant slipped 5 spots to 11th.

Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah also lost his number 1 spot on the bowler rankings to South African pacer Kagiso Rabada who picked up a brilliant 6-wicket haul against Bangladesh.

The silver lining for India was batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, who gained a spot in the batter rankings and moved to the 3rd spot, displacing England’s Harry Brook.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made his return to the top 3 in the latest ICC T20I all-rounder rankings after his impressive show with both the bat and the ball against Bangladesh in the series opener.

Hardik first bowled a decent spell of 1/26 before playing a match-winning knock of 39 runs off just 16 deliveries. The flamboyant all-rounder was in his zone with the bat and played a few nonchalant shots to blow away the visitors.

His brilliant performance in Gwalior saw him move to the third spot, only behind England’s Liam Livingstone (First) and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee (second). Hardik will be looking to continue this form in the remaining 2 T20Is against Bangladesh as well.

On the other hand, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh returned to the top 10 on the bowling charts. His fantastic bowling spell of 3/14 against Bangladesh in Gwalior saw him jump 8 spots and take the eighth position on the rankings. He is lone Indian bowler in the top 10. He also achieved a new career-high rating of 642 after an impressive display in the series opener.

Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar gained 4 places in the bowler rankings after picking up a wicket against Bangladesh in the first T20I and moved to the 35th position.
