Australia’s 79-run triumph to capture their fourth Under-19 World Cup championship on Sunday duplicated another World Cup final heartache for defending champions India. Within the space of three months, India advanced to the World Cup final twice without a loss, both times against Australia, and both times they were defeated. The Australian players raced onto the field after the game’s outcome was decided, with captain Hugh Weibgen leaving a lasting impression on Michael Vaughan in 2005 after winning the Ashes.
