Amid the massive announcement, several reports claimed that Chahal removed all pictures with Dhanashree from his social media account recently, giving rise to the divorce rumours.

Meanwhile, Chahal is reportedly set to appear on Bigg Boss 18 this Sunday according to the Times of India. The report further claimed that both Shreyas Iyer and Shashank Singh will also be appearing on the show. The trio are set to feature for the Punjab Kings in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Earlier, Dhanashree had broken her silence on divorce rumours with husband Chahal.

On Thursday, the Punjab Kings secured a stunning victory over the Gujarat Titans in a dramatic finish to the 2024 Indian Premier League. thanks largely to the heroics of their uncapped Indian player, Shashank Singh. Chasing a challenging 200-run score in Ahmedabad, Shashank put out a sensational performance with the bat, remaining unbeaten on 61 off just 29 deliveries to secure a much-needed win for the Kings.

On December 19 Tensions mounted in the auction room when Mallika Sagar, the auctioneer, finalised the bidding process for Chhattisgarh’s Shashank. Little did she know that it would spark confusion among the PBKS owners, Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta, who argued that they had confused the player with another cricketer of the same name. Mallika, naturally, questioned their sudden change of heart.

“Was it a wrong name? You don’t want the player?” Mallika’s inquired, prompting a hesitant response from the PBKS camp. It appeared that there had been a mix-up involving Shashank Singh, leaving the owners in a precarious position. After speculations spiralled on social media over whether the PBKS had signed the wrong Shashank, the franchise itself stepped forward to dispel any doubts.

Setting the record straight, PBKS clarified that Shashank Singh had always been a target for their squad. Shashank, too, had reacted to the post from PBKS on X, insisting that he now looked forward to joining the side.

So, in a poetic sense, his innings versus GT was a true ‘Shashank Redemption’.

Shashank emerged as the hero for PBKS in the run-chase after the side endured a poor start to the run-chase. The side kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was reeling at 111/5 when Shashank took charge of the chase.

With two boundaries and a towering six against Umesh, Shashank plundered 17 runs in the 11th over, igniting hope for the PBKS supporters. Despite the loss of partners at the other end, he continued to wield his bat with authority, finding the boundary ropes and clearing the fence with ease.

But the right-handed batter, Shahshank Singh, came in for his maiden innings in IPL 2022, and smashed Lockie Ferguson, one of the best T20 bowlers in the world, all over the park.

The batter from Chhattisgarh hit three sixes as he scored 25 runs in 6 balls with a strike rate of 416.67.

Thanks to Singh’s brutal assault, SRH finished with 195/6 in 20 overs. The right-handed batter returned unbeaten on 25 off 6 balls, which featured one four and three gigantic sixes.

Shashank Singh, born on November 21, 1991, made his List A debut for Mumbai on December 10, 2015, in the 2015-16 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

He was picked by Delhi Daredevils for IPL 2017 for Rs 10 lakh but did not get a chance to play. In 2018, Shashank was picked by the Rajasthan Royals in the player auction for the 2019 edition of IPL.

He made his first-class debut in December 2019, for Chhattisgarh in the Ranji Trophy. In 9 first-class matches so far he has scored 438 runs at an average of 43.60. hitting a hundred and three fifties.

In 23 list A matches, Shashank has scored 538 runs at an average of 29.77, hitting three half-centuries.
